Designed by the body.

My name is Anna, and I am a Scottish contemporary jeweller and recent graduate of DJCAD. I am originally from Dumbarton on the west coast of Scotland and have been lucky enough to exhibit my work in both Glasgow and Dundee for ‘New Glasgow Society’ and ‘Land O’Spex’.

My work draws on my interest in societal beauty standards. Growing up with two sisters, and with a mum who was one of four sisters, I have always been surrounded by female influences. What influences women and girls in the 21st century is the basis of my work.

LED face masks, marine collagen truffles, Ozempic, Aqualyx, fillers and Botox, and 3D body scans have become the weapons of the modern woman in bio-hacking. Within my work, I explore these themes and celebrate the women in my life—unedited and beautiful. The resulting pieces aim to move beyond adornment, recognising the female form as a site of creativity and identity, rather than something defined solely by ideals of change or perfection.

The body is the site of my work and I use the form to create works which can be placed on the ears, chest and even teeth.
